This fun show, organised by a social petworking site, is set for 19th September 2009 and is to be held in Brighton. It will bring together enough puppies to make it the ‘Worlds Biggest Puppy Party” to help raise awareness for those less fortunate dogs who are victims of ruthless breeders running puppy farms.
Puppy farms are unfortunately, a thriving and growing business in the UK they cause enormous suffering to dogs and their pups who are often very poorly with dangerous infestations, heart problems and pneumonia. The intensive breeding, lack of any health care and absence of any humility shown to the poor dogs used as breeding machines, is cause for concern to all animal lovers, animal organisations dedicated to the welfare of animals and the to the animals themselves.
Dogs are used as breeding machines to supply unsuspecting owners with very ill or traumatised puppies. The pups are usually taken from their mothers too soon and are already suffering ill effects of no veterinary care when they are bought by unsuspecting owners. The mothers are cruelly kept in small pens with no socialising or health care provided and are forced to have pups with each season. The pups are often transported across the UK to various dealers who pass them off as those of a reputable breeder.
The Awareness Day is supported by The Kennel Club and other agencies and will include a doggy shopping area and fun dog show. All profits will be going to dog charities whilst highlighting the cruelty of puppy farms and information on the right way to buy a healthy pup from a caring breeder.
To ensure your future pup is not from a puppy farm always ask to see the puppy’s mother, look at its kennelling conditions and ask if you can return the puppy if it does not work out.
