The CIS - Co-Operative Insurance Services Group is set to sack 2,000 staff if they refuse to accept new working conditions. New contracts are being sent to all their staff which effectively cuts their salaries and expects a higher workload requiring them to sell more policies.

The shopworkers union USDAW is ballating the 2000 staff for a strike but says the union 900 members have already refused to accept the terms and left. The CIS confirm they have already received letters 760 from their staff stating that they will not be accepting the new terms.

CIS new boss David Anderson has said that unless the staff sign the new conditions there is no room for them at CIS.
